Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are a full of energy, bottled with spirit, tenacity, eagerness, loving and caring hearts. The 16 pre-kindergarten students in the classroom all have different personalities for BIG to small.

They are like sponges, ready to soak up knowledge.

I consider them my own, and love seeing them blossom.

They all attend a Title I school in a large city in Michigan. As their teacher, my goal is to inspire to think and to prepare them for the future, not just kindergarten.

My Project

These backpacks will help students and their families keep their minds sharp over the summer to avoid the summer time slide.

We are ready for Kindergarten.

By obtaining these backpacks with learning materials all included, my students will have what they need to continue learning at home over the summer months. The backpacks include ABC letters, math materials, writing journals and school supplies. My students will be able to stay updated and gain more confidence by working on the basics needed for kindergarten.

Then after a long summer break, my student will also have their very own backpack to begin kindergarten with on their first day!
