This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Oh, the things we could learn! What an amazing class I have. These highly motivated third graders are eager to learn, and a document camera would be perfect for our classroom.
My third graders are incredibly inquisitive and excited about coming to school.
Unfortunately, the majority of my students live in a neighborhood that is dominated by gang activity and racial unrest. At age 8, many of my students have already been subject to the negative influences of gangs and violence. We are a Title 1 school with 85% of our students at a low-income level.
My Project
Oh, the things we could share! With our very own document camera, my students could share their writing with the class and explain ways to solve math problems. Using a document camera would allow the class to share their knowledge and gain confidence with their public speaking.
Oh the things we could see! We could display lyrics and learn new songs. While studying Pablo Picasso, we could put our Picasso biography under the document camera and view "The Weeping Woman" and "Three Musicians" on the big screen.
Oh, the things I could teach! As a teacher I will demonstrate how to analyze reading passages, and revise and edit their papers. During math lessons, I will use our document camera to show the class how to play new math games with manipulatives to increase their understanding of a new skill.
From now on, the students won't have to worry about hurrying to get a seat on the rug closest to the teacher because with a document camera, everyone will have a front row seat!
Oh, I can imagine how excited and motivated this great group of kids would be with our very own document camera!
