My students need a library to help them go to only books can take them. Some of the books are leveled library, graphic novels and other high intrest books.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Meeting our students, we noticed each and everyone was different in their own way. Many students loved reading books but others did not find it interesting on their level. Our goal is to make reading interesting for every reader. Our Students are simply amazing! They each differ in so many ways.
Our class is a 3rd grade MICRO ICT, it is a program for high functioning students that takes place in an integrated co teaching class.
Each member of the class has their own style, and personality. In order for our class to continue growing we need a new library to help our students grow. We want to make reading fun, loving and interesting.
My Project
We use a balance literacy workshop in our class. During many read loads, we use books above their level where we model different strategies to help them read. Some of books, we are told are not interesting for our students, so they can not try the strategies on their own. We want a new library to help make our library exciting and interesting for our readers. We want them to master their strategies in books they like.
A donation of a new library will help our students soar.
It will help students become better readers, build stamina, etc... Reading helps exercise our brains, it helps improve our concentration, teaches them about the world around them, helps improve their vocabulary, leads to highly developed language skills, develops an imagination, helps develop empathy and other feelings and it's a great form of entertainment. A new library will simply help our students succeed.
