My students need a small group kidney table to maximize our small group time, as well as dry erase easel that will be utilized during small group and whole group.
Books aren't just made of words…they're also filled with places to visit and people to meet.
This will be my first year teaching 2nd grade, and my first year teaching at TRES.
However, my experience at TRES does not begin here. I was fortunate enough to attend TRES myself, and I am so excited about returning and making and sharing new memories with my new group of second graders. TRES is a rural school in a mixed income area, and it is a Title 1 school. My students would greatly benefit from any support and materials!
My Project
The materials that I am requesting will be an essential part of our everyday small group routine. The kidney table will be our gathering place where we will dive into many books throughout the year and use them to experience, learn, and discuss many things, as well as work on becoming fluent readers. Small group instruction will be an essential part of our day, from reading to math, as well as RTI, and the kidney table would be the perfect meeting place. It will allow me to be close to interact with each student one on one during this time, as well as allow students to participate and discuss with each other. The dry erase easel will also be utilized during this time for teacher modeling and student work in various ways. The dry erase easel can also be used during whole group instruction, which would make it an irreplaceable tool throughout the entire day!
Donations to this project will provide my students and I with the tools we need to dive into books and make the most of our small group time.
Small group time is often my students' favorite time of the day because of the inviting and close knit environment where they feel comfortable sharing and discussing with their teacher and peers. These materials will just add to that feeling and make our small group time the best it can be!
