My students need an Osmo Genius Kit so they can explore fundamental Reading and Math concepts through imaginative play. Each student in my class will have the opportunity to learn in an engaging, technology driven way!
My students are vibrant, eager, questioning, and discerning explorers! My students are tenderhearted and compassionate, they often enter the classroom door hand-in-hand. The students in my class are diverse learners. Some students learn best through one-on-one instruction while others learn best during active small-group lessons. It's true, the students in my class aren't "typical" learners. They are working on fundamental academic and living skills.
My students have delays in cognitive, motor,language, and social skills, however, they have advanced skills in the areas of joy, compassion, struggle, endurance,and they defy the odds daily!
Our school is a Title 1 school and serves low-income and at-risk students. Many of our students do not have daily access to basic learning tools or technology. We work to meet all of our students' needs and prepare them for a bright and promising future!
My Project
The Osmo is a groundbreaking gaming system that fosters creative thinking and collaborative learning.When paired with an iPad, the Osmo transforms the area in front of the tablet into an interactive environment. The students will use manipulatives in the area in front of the tablet to build number sense, spelling, vocabulary, and real world problem solving skills. My students will be able to use the Osmo system at an independent work station while I work with small groups. They will be able to learn and practice reading and math skills while working collaboratively with their classmates in small settings, and enhance their social skills at the same time.
