Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Early childhood is a time to instill school routines and culture. My students need a structured and organized classroom to help meet their educational goals.
I will have 12 wonderful grade K-2 students, in September, in a self contained class.
Their disabilities range from learning disabilities to speech and language impairments. All of these students need structure and continuity. Some will be coming to school for the first time. This is my opportunity to begin the year with routines that will make my students successful throughout the school year and years to come.
My Project
My students will use the journal notebooks to contain their writing throughout the year and notice their progress. The plastic folders will be necessary to store homework and communication with parents on a daily basis. The labels will allow me to label their items and areas in the classroom for their use.
Organization, structure, and continuity are key to having a successful classroom and school year.
Helping me provide these items to students who ordinarily wouldn't have them, will help me teach to their individual needs.
