My students need these literacy squares so that they can stay in their own space during whole group time. These will also provide extra padding for their little behinds.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My second grade students are from Las Vegas and in a Title I school. They come from diverse backgrounds where most of them are English Language Learners who are building their reading comprehension skills and fluency.
My students come to school every day eager to learn new things and take brave chances on whatever is presented before them.
They are learning to become leaders and captains of their own learning to which will help them be better prepared for their future.
My Project
Since my students like to sit on the floor during reading time, these literacy squares, circles, and pillows will provide them an extra comfort. They can then focus on their learning and not constantly have to get up to move around because they are uncomfortable. Because they have different colors and letters, these will also provide them "a space of their own".
These materials will provide comfortable seating so that they can put their best effort into their learning without having to squabble for space and comfort.
I want to ensure that our learning space is a place that will give my students the ability to focus on their learning and gain the skills necessary to be successful.
