Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a variety of economic background. Most of my students do not have the materials necessary to succeed on a day to day basis. Many of my students have minimal support and the academic gap within my classroom is apparent at home, however, they continue to come to school excited and ready to learn.

Because many of my students come from low income homes, donations that we need for supplies aren't met.

With this being said, my students are always ready to learn and I try my best to serve them to the best of my ability. I see the joy that they have when they enter the classroom which in turn gives me joy.

My Project

I am requesting a set of small sand timers and boxed set of Harry Potter books as well as the Roald Dahl book c.Collection. The materials I chose will allow my students to be more excited about their reading time. A lot of my students aren't able to bring books from home so they rely on my small library. These books will be a great addition to our small collection. I know that the kids will definitely enjoy it.

Along with our small collection of books, these new books will give my students more options to choose from during reading time.

I know that these new additions will make reading more exciting for my students, which in turn will influence them to want to read more.
