I work with a group of bright young learners who are receiving special education services. My students are working to improve their basic fine and gross motor skills, academic skills, and social skills so they can participate better within the classroom.
My students are kind, energetic, and determined youngsters who need gross-motor activities to help them learn to regulate and control their bodies.
Despite each of their individual challenges, my students come to school willing to learn and increase their skills.
Our tricycles that our students have previously been using are old, breaking down, and no longer safe to use.
My students need a new tricycle to safely learn how to motor plan and regulate their bodies to ride a tricycle.
I want to provide this wonderful therapeutic opportunity for them so they can practice moving their bodies as it is more difficult for them than neurotypical students.
Having access to a bike will make such an impact on my students. Please help us reach our goal so that we can purchase a tricycle that is safe, and can be adjusted to be used for every student.
