My Students

The majority of the students in my classroom are English Language Learners. Because they have not yet acquired the language to express themselves verbally, they express themselves through their artwork and through play (what they build in the block center for example.)

In pre-kindergarten, we focus on learning through play.

My students demonstrate what they know through art, building, and pretend play. I want to provide them with tools that will promote creative thinking, and allow them to express themselves without any limitations.

My Project

I am asking for a sensory table so my students' learning can be enhanced through sensory activities. Students will be able to build with kinetic sand, do float and sink activities, and a variety of different sand/water projects as a hands-on addition in the science center.

The materials that I am asking for will support Pre-K's child-centered approach where students learn through play.

The sensory table will be an excellent addition to our science/discovery center because it will allow students to make and test their predictions, problem solve and explore independently. The sensory table will also promote teamwork as students will work in pairs.
