My students need new lightpads! My goal is to get enough lightpads for each student to be able to use their own eventually.

My Students

Wow my students blow my mind with their dedication to their artwork! I am always amazed at how hard they work and how much they want to learn about art, supplies, and techniques and how these things will help them achieve their future goals; whether they are looking to study art at the college level or go into an art related work field, they are always wanting to do MORE with the things we have and quite a few things we don't have.

My Project

We have six light boxes, two are completely broken, one has blue lights in it, and the other three are on their way to where ever dead light boxes go.

The current light boxes are between 4" and 5 1/2" thick.

The lights in the current boxes are those lovely flickering tube lights that are difficult to stare at for long periods of time, whereas the lightpads we would like are made with LEDs that have a much longer life and don't cause any eye issues such as migraines from long use.

Students use these light boxes through out the year to help with an array of projects from Pop Art style artwork where their design needs to be repeated multiple time, to seeing if their character design would actually fit into the background art they have created.
