Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a Life Skills class to 8 students that range from 6-8th grade. They love learning and are always eager to try new things. We love to do science experiments and daily living skills every week. This includes planning and cooking a meal and learning how to do laundry for example. This also includes social skills and how to interact with others even though they may have issues that make it hard on them at times. My students are the hardest workers I know!

My Project

These materials will make a huge difference for my students because they will be able to not only visually see the item, but they will be able to have a hands-on approach to learning. It will let them see the body parts and get a concrete grasp of our living body. I think my students will all be so intrigued to see the body models, and this will further their learning in the STEM fields. This is a great beginning point in learning our body systems, organs, and how they all work together to keep us alive and functioning properly. The microscope set would further their learning into both human and animal cells. My students have never had the opportunity to use a microscope. I feel this would be such an awesome learning tool.
