Some of them were excited to see the packages and they said it felt like Christmas. Many of them gasped, pointed things out to their friends, and immediately began asking if we could use them right away. For a group of students who often doubt themselves in math, it was amazing to see their genuine excitement and curiosity sparked by something new that was just for them.\r\n\r\nWe are already putting these materials to use during our daily lessons. Majority of the items we received are shared in group caddies. Most of my students can't afford basic school supplies and are afraid and even embarrassed to ask to share with their peers. However, in these caddies, theres enough school supplies for my students to use and share and easily take what they need from the school supply caddy at their table groups. For example, we recently used them in a collaborative problem-solving activity where students worked in groups and each needed to have their own pencil, markers, colored pens, and I noticed that even my most hesitant students were more engaged. Instead of shutting down, they leaned in and tried, because the resources made the activity more hands-on, clear, and fun. Having these tools has given my students the confidence to take risks and stay involved in class activities.\r\n\r\nThe next step for us is to continue incorporating these resources into our upcoming units and review projects. My students are preparing for challenging math benchmarks, and the tools you helped provide are giving them new ways to practice, visualize, and connect with the material. Your generosity has created a real, lasting difference in our classroom, and my students and I are so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1746785800033,"projectUrl":"project/equipped-to-learn-where-motivation-meet/9277711/","projectTitle":"Equipped to Learn: Where Motivation Meets Math","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Carino","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10005288_orig.jpg?crop=1038,1038,x372,y715&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1745527678437","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10005288"},{"teacherId":8582911,"projectId":8550244,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of my classroom! I am truly grateful for your kindness and commitment to education.\r\n\r\nThis year marked an exciting new chapter as I introduce World Geography to our sixth-grade students for the first time at our school. With your contribution, I was one step closer to creating an engaging and immersive learning space that will spark curiosity and enthusiasm in my students from day one.\r\n\r\nThe materials you've helped provide—headphones for interactive lessons, world maps and flags for reference, social-emotional learning tools, and interactive review games—played a vital role in making our classroom a dynamic and inclusive environment. These tools helped support visual and auditory learning but also encourage teamwork, active participation, and a global mindset.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, my students were better equipped to visualize, connect with, and appreciate the world around them, making their overall scores increase by 25% on the district tests which became increasingly more difficult as the year went on. Your support is not just helping me set up a classroom—you've helped lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning and cultural understanding.","fullyFundedDate":1730820793906,"projectUrl":"project/a-few-items-needed-for-new-world-geograp/8550244/","projectTitle":"A Few Items Needed for New World Geography Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Zaravia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8582911_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750273292226","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8582911"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_9742","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1152,"numTeachers":52,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":27,"percentWhite":14,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":51,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"22.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.6,"schoolId":9742,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about R.S.
