My students love learning about new people and places. Every trip to my library offers this opportunity to over 700 students in my building. Our students range from 3-years-old to 5th grade. We have a diverse economic and ethnic population.
My students are excited to come to the library, but can't always get the book they want.
Their thirst for knowledge keeps the books flying off the shelves. They seem to read everything I am able to put in from of them!
My Project
I am looking to add a few loved titles to my collection. The Baby-Sitters Club has recently gained in popularity, so my single copy is never on the shelf. Knuffle Bunny and Elephant & Piggie are characters that my students can't get enough of.
Weekly, students are asking for these books, only to find them constantly checked out.
Nothing kills the love of reading like never being able to check out the book you came to look for in the library. My students encounter this situation weekly. These books will help me foster the love of reading by allowing students to leave the library excited about the book they found.
