Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are young, enthusiastic, and eager to learn. They work hard and want to over-excel in all that they do. When we are in class they love helping one another and giving each other the support. They are very open-minded and absorb the information given to them quite quickly. They are inquisitive and learn through experiences. Their fascination with the world allows them to see even the smallest detail. They are always excited to share the world they see through their eyes. The world through the eyes of a four/five year old is fascinating.

My Project

The materials requested will be used to make content available to all of my students. We have been learning from home since March of 2020. Trying to teach through a small screen is nearly impossible. Students are constantly complaining that they cannot see. I currently teach out of my living room. I do not have a lot of space for a desk. Currently, I am working off of my small tray tables which can only hold so much. I recently received a document reader and a second monitor, which I feel will be a humongous change, but need additional items to make this work.

My student love to learn.

Whether its art or math their hunger for knowledge is continuous. I need a table that is bigger and can hold all of my electronics. I also need a laminator, as students at this age need hands on activities. The desk will be used so that I can do direct drawing lessons through a document reader. The laminator will be used to create Math Mats that the students will have at home to make learning more engaging.
