This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Our 8th grade students have worked incredibly hard over the past three years, growing academically and emotionally while navigating the challenges of adolescence. They deserve to be celebrated as they reach this important milestone and embark on the next chapter of their academic journey. The gift cards will allow them to enjoy a special dinner with their families, making memories and reflecting on their achievements thus far.
Families in our community come from a diverse range of socioeconomic backgrounds, so providing a gift card would ensure all students can participate equally in this celebratory experience.
Beyond the practical benefits, giving gift cards helps show students that their hard work and perseverance matters—that we as a school community recognize the efforts they have put in. This recognition means a lot as they transition to high school. The cards are a small but meaningful way to applaud 8th graders for their dedication and encourage them as they prepare for exciting new opportunities ahead. With your support, we can make this celebration possible for our graduating 8th grade class.
