Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a guidance counselor with a diverse population of students ranging from honors, special education, and English language learners who come from many different cultural backgrounds and educational needs. We are a Title I school which means that students come from many different social and economic circumstances. I work with students from grades six through eighth and meet with several weekly. My students are located mostly in the Elmhurst and Corona area of Queens which has been hit very hard by this pandemic.
Basic supplies are the key to success in the classroom!
In order to start off next school year with success, we need some supplies to help us be successful! These basic supplies will be a huge help to my students to have the supplies they need to start off the school year right. The file folders will be used to keep my students work and important papers organized in our file cabinet. The cardstock, felt letters, and colored paper will be used to create signs and posters to help my students with important notifications they need for the start of a new school year. The desk organizer and mouse pad will make it easy for me to organize paperwork for my students and use my computer when needed.
