My Students
My 20 energetic first grade students need to get organized and ready for a successful school year. The best way of doing that is providing them with different organizational materials. We do many activities throughout the day and try the reach all the students different learning styles. "The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you." -B.B. King
My students' learning styles and needs are as diverse as their backgrounds, but they all have the yearning to be successful
Many families of our school have been in the school district for generations. I myself went to this school as a student that I am now teaching in.
My Project
This year I am looping with my Kindergarten class to first grade. In Kindergarten they had lockers to keep their stuff in and organized. The First grade classrooms only have hooks for their backpacks and coats. The seat pockets for their chairs will keep all their belongings together and organized.
Being organized and having all the materials you need throughout the day saves more time for the education of my students.
The 3mm hooks will be placed on the shelves so they can keep their self selected reading books in them for Daily 5. The velcro dots and laminating sheets will be used to keep track of where the kids will be during their Daily 5 rotations. As always you can never have enough crayons to use during the day in an elementary classroom.
