Help me give my students the gift of reading! Now, many students read from apps. I want them to enjoy the feel and look of a real life book! Especially one with such an important message.

My Project
“There are many little ways to enlarge your world. Love of books is the best of all.” – Jacqueline Kennedy
Everyone deserves a good book, especially one with such an important message.
"Fish in a Tree delivers a powerful message about embracing individuality and celebrating success in all its forms. This book teaches us that everyone has their unique strengths and weaknesses, and it's essential to support and accept each other, regardless of our differences." This is such an important concept as my students approach the middle school years.
My students are a diverse group with different backgrounds and beliefs BUT they all enjoy reading and love being read to! I can not think of a better way to teach them about acceptance and individuality than through reading. However many times reading "books" is done through the use of an iPad or Chromebook.
Although useful at times, children need the opportunity to hold a book. Devices can be distracting at times as well as unpredictable due to Wi-Fi connections and dead batteries. Please help me give the gift of reading to my 5th graders who deserve the chance to relax, read and just enjoy a good book and walk away with a life-lesson.
