This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

HCP students are some of the hardest working kids in the state of Oklahoma. They go above and beyond in the classroom, to prepare themselves for college. Our school is by far the best public high school in the state of Oklahoma, but our athletic program is struggling with the budget cuts across the state. We have to fundraise for all our necessary equipment, and I can't afford to purchase them out of my pocket. These kids really cherish the little things that make a big difference and do more with less than schools in the area.

My Project

Our kids deserve to have the best off-season training equipment possible. Our current equipment is old, out of date, and falling apart to the point it has become a safety hazard. By adding just these simple pieces of equipment we will be able to perform so many more exercises and be able to perform them safely. As we know, Oklahoma's education budget is bad and most schools are not in a position to spend money on things that are not educational. We are one of those schools, but in order for us to continue to provide our students with quality off-season programs as well as our athletes with a safe workout environment, we need to upgrade our equipment. Ideally we'd like to purchase a vertimax but that's not possible on our budget so things like the PER4M Jump Trainer, INNSTAR vertical jumper, and resistance bands will have to work.
