Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a diverse area, and my hardworking students come to school every day ready to learn. I love my students! They are hardworking, eager learners. They come from diverse backgrounds including various ethnicities and diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. I use whole-brain teaching strategies in my classroom, so my students are constantly engaged in learning and sharing ideas with each other. I want my students to have all of the essentials they need to be able to love life every day.
My Project
This school year is full steam ahead! Our classroom this year has transformed from a "normal" class with desks and chairs to a fully working, independent, choice-heavy room filled with fun seats and areas around the room to promote independence. I am asking for these items so that my flexible seating classroom will run more smoothly. My classroom carpet was taken out over the summer, so I am asking for a carpet for students to sit on as well as desk and chair stoppers so moving them does not damage our new floors! I am also asking for a wireless doorbell in order to gather student attention when they are busy working. A label maker is going to help label everything around the classroom so students know exactly what goes where. And finally, students can never have enough dry erasers and notebooks!
