My Project
Our classroom has been blessed through DonorsChoose for many years! We have received so many things to make learning in the garden and on the farm interesting, exciting and delicious! Currently we are trying to maximize our cardboard input to our compost bins, but ripping it by hand, while socially fulfilling, has proven to be hard on our fingers. The electric cardboard cutter will dramatically lessen the time we need to spend on breaking down cardboard all while adding important brown carbon to our compost bins.
Storage is the bane of any teacher's existence!
Finding a place for everything, all while keeping the items within reach and providing easy access is a chore. I have found that these plastic drawer bins works awesome for those knickknack items that we use on a regular basis but not every day. The drawers are easily labeled and they sit on the shelves, within reach of whoever needs to use the items. Some of the other items we need is a portable chainsaw to cut the large branches of bushes on the farm. Using a handsaw is ok, but hard on the body of the wielder. We also need some rice paper to make spring rolls because they are sold out in all the stores near us.
