This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
After a couple of roller coaster years with Covid, we are finally back in the classroom learning and it has been wonderful! Not only are the students learning reading, writing, and arithmetic - but they are also learning how to socialize again and how to be good classroom citizens after a year away from each other.
Foundations and fun are the name of the game for our class this year!
We are definitely building academic foundations but we are also building good foundations and habits for learning which include storing and organizing classroom materials properly and treating them with care so that they will stay intact for other students to use down-the-road. Some of the baskets will be used to organize our Art Center for easier access to materials and to create a clean look for the all of our art supplies and preserve what we have for future classes. The rest of the baskets will be used to organize the many cool books and National Geographics we have in our Finished Early bins.
It's been a tough year and the kids have been troopers so I would love to give each child in my class a slime kit as their end-of-year gift so they can have some fun over the summer while also learning about STEM. It's a win-win!
