This group of students is very diverse. They are creative and present with social, emotional and sensory difficulties. They are learning to balance their desire for order and perfection with an appreciation for surprises and mistakes. Many of these students are tech savvy and enjoy working with iPads. This year, my co-teacher and I would like to work on socialization and group work as these students need assistance with peer interaction and support in working as a team. Incorporating technology will allow us to create and post group activities to encourage skills needed when working with partners and small groups.

My Project
Our classroom has had several previously funded projects. However, there were still some odds and ends that would help the classroom function more easily. The iPad covers would protect our classroom iPads and allow students to move about with more freedom and independence The pencil cups will help provide color-coded visual organization. This will allow students to stay organized and have materials on hand when needed. In addition, the velcro will be used to help make behavior charts more functional so students can actively participate be held accountable for their efforts.
