This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a high poverty school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch! I have high expectations that they will grow and learn beyond what is expected.
School is a safe and happy place for my students.
Each day, they come into the classroom excited about the day and spending time exploring and learning together. For many of my students, being at school is the best part of their day.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are basic materials that we use almost daily.
In math we use 10 frames to add, subtract, count and to tell which number is greater or less than.
We use the dice for games in math. We have also used to movement in science. Is it a push or pull? Highlighters are used not only in reading but in math, science and grammar. We use them daily for finish the main idea in each subject. This year and next we will be using more technology that have touch screen. A stylus will help with "pencil" grip and small muscle movements on a device.
Having the needed materials so students do not have to share will help keep germs from spreading and insure that all students are learning with the provided materials.
