My Project

Our students earn school dollars for following our schoolwide PBIS expectations. Basically, they get play money as a reward for "doing the right thing," such as completing school work, walking quietly in the hall, etc. Every month, they get to "buy" items in the school store with their money. These items include toys, like stuffed animals, action figures, and carnival-type prizes. They also have the choice to "buy" snacks such as cheez-its, cookies and Starbursts.

The school store and prizes teach the students that they earn "money" (rewards) for good behavior, but it also teaches them financial literacy.

They are learning to save "money," and they are learning the value of money.
