Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a self contained Kindergarten class with 20 children. Each month we focus on one theme and incorporate it into all subject areas. The children really love Ocean life and are very interested yet we have little or no hands on items to supplement our unit on Ocean Life.
While we visit the aquarium every year we do not have any hands on Science items that would help build their knowledge of ocean life. These items would help build their science vocabulary and observation skills prior to our visit to the aquarium.
We could love to have a set of science books about Ocean life as well as hands on items such as a feely bag to stimulate their love of the ocean.
