Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach fantastic students at a Title I school on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. We love to learn through hands on activities and authentic experiences in the classroom especially during small group instruction. Our students are in need of essential resources and materials that will benefit them during reading and writing lessons.
Our school is truly a barrier free school, serving all students who come through our doors.
Almost 10% of our students are English language learners and 33% are students with disabilities. Almost half of our students stay in after-school until after 5 PM each day while their parents work.
My Project
A projector would make a world of difference in my classroom! We need a new projector to improve the quality of learning for each student. A projector will help bring all learning into focus!
Experience with technology one of the major keys to success in our modern society.
Group discussions, and small group instruction can be greatly enhanced by the use of such technology. The use of both visual and audio tools are an absolute necessity to engage learning. This projector will enrich their learning experience tremendously! Technology changes the ball game! A whiteboard cannot compare!
I would love for them to have first hand experience with creating technology based projects. An LCD projector will allow my students to easily share PowerPoint presentations, and other computer based projects with their peers.
