I am a third grade teacher of a bilingual special education class. My students are functioning at a pre-K to Kindergarten level and require a lot of hands-on, bodily kinesthetic learning opportunities. I would like to give them a more hands-on and interactive Science experience by taking them to the NY Hall of Science for a visit to one of their amazingly interactive exhibits as well as an opportunity to "play with science" on the Science Playground. Students will experience aspects of science and technology through the sensations of their entire bodies. Through playground elements, like slides and seesaws, they will explore the scientific principles of motion, balance, sound, sight, simple machines and sun, wind and water. As the largest Science Playground in the Western Hemisphere, the New York Hall of Science's playground fosters a better relationship with science through personal discovery and participation. I feel this will be a very engagning and memorable experience for my students. Thank you for helping to make it happen!
