My Project

An indoor garden for middle school students in Staten Island offers a hands-on way to connect with nature while living in an urban environment. Students can learn about sustainability, plant biology, and healthy eating by growing their own food. This initiative fosters responsibility, teamwork, and creativity, while providing a peaceful space for relaxation. The garden also benefits the local community by promoting environmental awareness and encouraging sustainable practices. It can serve as a hub for education, workshops, and events, strengthening community bonds and supporting green initiatives.Additionally, the indoor garden can serve as a valuable resource for local families, offering fresh produce and educational opportunities. Students can share what they learn with their peers and neighbors, cultivating a sense of pride and ownership.
