Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are nutty for non-fiction. I taught first grade last year at a public school in a high-need neighborhood of Chicago. I will be taking the students I had last year to second grade this year, which I could not be more excited about.
Last year, we did a six-week long unit on navigating non-fiction texts. To my delight, my students LOVED it! This year, I want to make sure I can offer them enough non-fiction texts to match their interests. My school does not give us a budget to buy books for our classroom therefore, I need your help!
I would love to get a subscription to Time For Kids for every student in my class. I can do so many activities with the subscription. My students can learn about non-fiction text features, they can learn about current events and the world around them, they can do research projects sparked by a question from the text.
Non-fiction text is everywhere in our lives. From newspapers to internet websites to recipes; information that we need is everywhere. Our students need to learn how to navigate and comprehend non-fiction texts. Your support and generosity will make a huge difference in my students' education!

TIME For Kids Magazine- News Scoop Edition w/ TFK Around the World (grades 2-3). Pricing is valid for orders placed after March 2008. After August 15th of current school year, pricing will remain in effect but TIME For Kids reserves the right to prorate issue quantity and free gifts. Only valid for orders in quantities of 10 or more. Orders for less than 10 subscriptions will NOT be fulfilled.
