Thank you for supporting my Mighty Murphy Champions! Our school serves the historic neighborhood of Dorchester (Boston). We are proud to be one of the most diverse school districts in the nation. Nearly one in every two students speaks a language other than English at home and our students come from 135 different countries.
My students apply themselves fully to cognitively challenging tasks throughout our extended school days and need encouragement to persevere.
It is my mission and goal to provide the most rigorous, yet absolutely encouraging environment for all of our young scholars. DonorsChoose.org is an essential tool providing resources otherwise unavailable to us.
My Project
There have been too many days where I've watched most of my class not have a snack from home, and those sad eyes crush my heart. By providing the same nutritious snack to every child in the classroom, we can reduce any jealousy or resentment. I will be able to reward their commitment to a growth mindset on a daily basis.
Some days, we are working for almost four hours before our lunch break.
I'll give them the bars halfway through these long stretches to give them a boost. These nutrition bars are high-fiber and sustain energy longer with complex carbs, rather than sugary junk foods.
