My Project
My fifth graders come to school every day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Many of my students come from low-income homes and have to deal with the stress of poverty and real life. Many come to school without basic self-care items that are a necessity. My 60 students need your help! They come from a wide range of backgrounds and family situations. Regardless of the many challenges these children face, they still show up to school every day, seeking acceptance and a safe learning environment.
My project is to create a Care-Cart for students in need.
It is difficult for children to learn and be successful when they lack basic self-care items and they are embarrassed or fearful of being bullied. The Care-Cart will help protect students from these types of situations by making basic self-care items, such as lotion and flushable wipes available when needed. These items along with many other items, that I have already collected, will be placed in the Care-Cart (rolling tool chest) and will help students in need.
I am trying to provide a safe environment for students to learn and grow and I believe my project will contribute to that goal.
