This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help give my students a variety of diverse books for our classroom library!
It is always great to see students eager to open their books and start reading. This becomes a reality when students have engaging books to read.
This book request includes many of the cultures represented in my classroom, giving students a chance to both see themselves and learn about each other.
Building a strong classroom community where each student is valued and seen for exactly who they are is essential to our learning environment.
Having a diverse and inclusive classroom library helps us do just that. Students see all kinds of families and people in the books we read each day allowing them to feel represented and also helping them see the benefits of diversity and inclusion. We are stronger together when we have opportunities to learn from each one another.
