My Project
In our Pre-K classroom, we believe in the power of play to teach essential life skills. We are seeking support to purchase a Kaplan wooden doll high chair, baby doll clothes, play phones, and dress-up clothes because compassion is at the heart of everything we do. Through dramatic play, our students learn to care for others in meaningful ways.
A wooden doll high chair and baby doll clothes with other dramatic play accessories will enhance our dramatic play area, allowing our young learners to role-play caring for others, practicing empathy, and developing social-emotional skills.
With these resources, students will explore nurturing roles, from feeding a doll in the high chair to dressing and comforting them, fostering a deep sense of responsibility and kindness. The addition of play phones will also help students engage in conversations and express concern for others, further developing their communication and compassionate interactions.
Students will learn to see the world through the eyes of another person by role-playing different nurturing roles. This exposure helps them appreciate different perspectives and fosters empathy. The play items will also help students work toward alleviating suffering in others by enabling them to practice caring and supportive behaviors.
We will measure success through observations of improved communication and interactions among students. Teachers will note instances of empathy, cooperation, and kindness, and gather feedback from parents and caregivers to assess the program’s impact beyond the classroom.
