In my classroom, many of my students come to school without breakfast. They are embarrassed to go to breakfast in the school cafeteria. Our school starts early and these students are starving by the time we get into our morning routines. Therefore, I spend a lot of money purchasing items that they can sit and snack on while working.
In my classroom, meeting all of my students' needs is a top priority.
Whether it be a pencil, marker or a breakfast snack, I try to have handy the items needed to nurture and nourish my kids. The snacks I have asked for are items I use daily for students who come to school hungry. I have students crying and I am going to feed them. I also like to provide students with opportunities to create artistic items to hang around our room. They love to show off their work. The markers will be a treasure to my students.
