This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am an 8th grade Special Education teacher in the Boston Public School district and I have the amazing opportunity to work with so many wonderful students! I engage on a daily basis with students who are from low income/ high poverty backgrounds recieving special education services. These students are faced with many challenges BUT learning should not be one of them. It is my hope to provide a warm and welcoming classroom, where I can focus on providing emotional and academic support, a technology friendly classroom, and basic everyday classroom supplies in order to best aid and grow my student's 21st century skills.

My Project

My students are in need of basic daily hygiene products such as face wash,deoderant and toothpaste in addition to healthy breakfast and snack items. The items listed above would allow me to provide for my most in-need students, who would other wise not be able to provide themselves. classroom.

This donation would tremendously increase my overall student engagement, by alleviating student's worry about personal hygiene and hunger.

Many students struggle to maintain focus due to lack of food provided at home, having snacks and breakfast options directly in my classroom would provide me the opportunity to completely support my students.
