Numworks Calculators in Rural Wyoming

Help me give my students access to new calculators that will decrease the amount of time we spend learning to run the calculator and increase our time learning new concepts.

My Project

Some of our classroom calculators need to be replaced due to normal use and their age. We explored Numworks calculators and received recommendations from other teachers that these calculators are very user-friendly and minimize the time spent with instructing students how to use the calculator which increases the time spent learning math which should increase our standardized testing results and their achievement in the mathematics.

We live in an area where farming and ranching is a way of life.

Many of our students will need to understand math to continue to run successful farms and ranches. Numworks provides access to a free download for mobile phones, but the calculators are needed for the classroom as phones are not permitted in the classroom or on the standardized tests.

We are hoping to acquire a classroom set (20 devices) of Numworks to get us started, but we would like two sets to adequately serve our students. Numworks calculators are permitted for use on the ACT. The cost of Numworks is significantly lower than the cost of replacing our current devices.
