My students need a variety of math manipulatives, including 2 games, a set of count-a-cookie number jars, a magnetic maze and a set of math mystery boxes.

Numbers are everywhere in this world! It is my job as a preschool teacher to introduce and teach a rock solid foundation of counting and the understanding of basic number concepts to a class of 3 and 4 year olds. I teach 16 highly energetic and inquisitive children. My class consists of both developmentally delayed students with various disabilities and their same age peers.

It is often difficult to maintain the interests of very young children. They learn best by manipulating and exploring a variety of hands on materials. Because of their short attention spans, they get bored with the same old manipulatives quickly.

My class will have hours of fun learning about numbers while "playing" with the cookies, peanuts, strawberries, and magnetic counting maze requested. These materials will provide me with numerous ways of presenting a variety of concepts while grabbing their attention with the introduction of new and exciting materials.

You will make it possible for my students to establish a solid foundation of counting and number concepts by funding a variety of materials. Together we can provide the basic building blocks my preschoolers will need to expand on their knowledge of numbers in the future.
