Calculators will give my newcomer students a chance to explore the world of STEM. All my students are English language learners, many of whom have never used calculators before in their home countries. Currently, there are not enough calculators in my classroom for each student to have their own, which limits how much learning and practice they can do. I also hope to use these calculators to teach them more advanced math and science related calculations.
With a class set of calculators, my newcomer students will be able to learn about science and math in ways they never could back in their home countries.
