My Project

This project that will enrich the educational experience of my 7th-grade Honor classroom by delving into Lois Lowry's poignant novel "Number the Stars." Set against the backdrop of Nazi-occupied Denmark during World War II, this powerful story follows the journey of ten-year-old Annemarie Johansen as she navigates courage, sacrifice, and the true meaning of friendship. By immersing ourselves in this gripping narrative, students will not only deepen their understanding of history but also cultivate empathy, critical thinking skills, and a profound appreciation for the resilience of the human spirit.

By supporting this project, you will help create a compassionate and inclusive learning environment where students can explore history, literature, and the human experience with depth and empathy.

"Number the Stars" offers a compelling glimpse into the realities of life during the Holocaust, particularly for Danish Jews.
