My Students

Our school is the bridge between lower elementary and the greater demands for self-discipline and personal responsibility expected at the junior high and high school. At our school, we prepare our students for the challenges ahead with an emphasis on curriculum along with opportunities to discover areas of strength and interest.

This is my second year teaching in Coweta, and I am excited to learn about my students, the school, and the city of Coweta.

My goal is to help the students discover their love for reading.

My Project

We are currently reading Number the Stars in our classroom. I checked out a class set of books from our school library. Unfortunately, these books are in very poor shape. Pages are falling out every hour and most of the spines are no longer attached. We are also short in one class because we have 27 students, and only 26 books.

I want my students focused on the novel, not the pages that keep falling out.

We are reading this novel everyday and it is important part of our classroom. Not only this year, but the years to come. The students are really enjoying the story and I want them to each have a book to read in class.
