This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are curious learners. They are not from the most affluent schools. They sometimes struggle with the basics of life. Even though they have many obstacles against them, they always are ready to learn.

I teach at a Title I school (low-socioeconomic status) with a diverse student body population.

Our students cover the full spectrum of learners including those that just moved to the United States from countries across the globe. We believe every student will succeed with hard work and dedication! Everyone matters!

My Project

I am asking for copies of Number the Stars by Lois Lowry for my students in order for them to improve their reading skills.

These books will be used to analyze an excellent form of fiction genre as well as help my students to become fluent readers.

In turn, my students will enhance their comprehension skills which will allow them to be successful on our state testing. Also, this novel will help me to teach compassion and empathy to those who are different from them. They will be able to see that everyone has good in them and anyone can be a hero with courage and understanding.
