This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We know that implementing Number Talks is of the most effective strategies in math instruction. Using Number Talks helps teachers listen to and follow their students' thinking and also deepens their own understanding of the mathematics they teach. Number Talks can best be described as classroom conversations around purposefully crafted computation problems that are solved mentally.

By providing each teacher with a copy of this book, teachers will be able to implement number talks so that students will be able to learn new strategies increasing their problem-solving ability.

One teacher described the process as "truly transformational."
