My Students
I have a class of diverse learners with diverse needs.
All my diverse learners will spend this year learning the foundation of knowledge and skills they will need as they move forward in advanced grades.
Our school serves students in grades K-5 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment. As a result, we are consistently one of the top-performing schools in our area. Our goal is to prepare our students for success in school and in life.
My Project
Can math be fun and educational at the same time? Yes! Rekenreks offer children a visual representation of addition and subtraction strategies. My students will use the Rekenreks during math time to reinforce math common core standards. A Rekenerek is a calculating frame or arithmetic rack that is used as a tool to help students see quantities to ten. Students can use the Rekenrek to develop computation skills or solve contextual problems.
The use of Rekenreks in my classroom will assist my students with learning, engaging, and enjoying math.
They will have a chance to see math in a visual frame and show what they've learned without having to use a pencil and paper.
The bean bags will be used to enforce and enrich the students hand-eye coordination and reinforce team building fun! The pogo jumpers are fun and promote an active lifestyle.
