This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There is nothing more welcoming them a cozy spot and a good book. Well for my students, we have the books but there is an empty corner for reading. I am asking you to help me create an inviting space for my student to come and read in.

My students come from an extremely low-income part of Texas.

For many of them, reading is the only escape from the mundane day to day activity. It is my goal to create a warm, inviting place for these students to come and read both before, during, and after school. A safe place for them to relax and read.

My Project

For many of my remedial reading students, reading is uncomfortable already. They have struggled for years and many do not want to pick up a book. My vision is to create a space that is welcoming, inviting, where they want to come! By providing these five yellow bean bag chairs I will be able to creat an inviting reading room that will get students to love reading!

Being able to provide a comfortable environment will allow me to open my room to students before, during, and after school.

I want the reading corner to be a place where students want to come, unwind, and enjoy a good book! WIth your help, we can make the remedial reading room the place to be!
