My Students

I am a proud teacher of 24, sensational, second graders. They are intelligent, young, and eager learners. My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them each day. Our district is located in a high-poverty area. Our school is a school-wide Title I site of first and second-grade students. As most normal second graders, they have lots of extra energy and movement. We enjoy learning about all kinds of things.

My Project

The OSMO is a game that connects an iPad, which adds a huge excitement for my students.

This project will allow my students to cook up math and money skills by running their own pizza shop.

They will be able to quickly cook pizza and calculate change using toppings and money tiles. Students can then invest the profits to upgrade your shop as you bake your way to becoming "the big cheese”!

In addition, the Osmo has other great games to use during intervention and STEM including Coding Jam. All of these games will increase my students' mathematical skills. This makes the system very versatile and exciting for students while increasing their financial literacy!
