My Project

Current trends in book publishing include books written in a variety of formats. Students are no longer limited to chapter books written in straight prose; now there are books written in letters and/or texts from one character to another, emails, journal entries, and more. Different formats can be quite engaging for students, and can also be challenging for them!

These books will keep students' interest and attention with their non-traditional formats!

We will have a book club session in which each group has a book with a non-traditional format. Discussions will include the author's choice of format, analysis of that format, and evaluation of the use of the format to tell a story.
