My students are incredible children who are part of my extended family. In a small town of Pennsylvania, there is a wonderful little rural town. Parents are hard working and try to make the best for their children. These parents work hard to teach their children how to be successfully regardless of what struggles they may face or challenges they may have to overcome. This wonderful town is often overlooked by many.
Many of my parents both work just to make ends meet.
Most parents try extremely hard to provide for their children's needs, but often the extras take second place, which they should.
My Project
This school year, I have chosen to change a few things within my classroom. I have decided to get away with having the students read just an excerpt of a story and actually read a novel. They love it. They are so happy with they choice that I made and are begging for more. Can you imagine students wanting to read.
The next novels in our series are going to be one of two choices, Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library or Crenshaw.
They have no idea what it is going to be but I can't wait to surprise them.
We are currently reading the novel The One and Only Ivan and every time we have to stop either for time or to work for on our comprehension questions they get mad at me. Actually mad at me for making them stop, not for the work. They have worked so hard on this novel and have tried so hard I can't wait to reward them more with novels. Please help me with this goal. Help me continue to foster their love for reading.
