Novel Studies in Third Grade

My Project

One of the best ways to engage students with meaningful reading material is through novel studies in which the students can take the books home with them. These class sets of books would do so much to help engage my students and make them more confident in their reading abilities! This helps students follow along while being read aloud to, as well as reference back to the text when they are answering questions both verbally and in writing.

Giving students access to the text they are reading helps boost comprehension and engagement.

These texts will be used in my classroom for years to come! My students have a deep love for reading, especially when it comes to chapter books. This project will help fund three novels studies we will do throughout the school year: Freckle Juice, Frindle, and Mr. Popper's Penguins.
